Egil Hogna takes over as CEO 1 December
As previously announced at the beginning of June, Egil Hogna will become the new CEO for Norconsult. The transition date has now been confirmed as 1 December 2020.
– I am looking forward to taking on the role, and I’m particularly excited about getting to know the talented Norconsult team better. Of course, the corona situation will make it difficult for me to visit every office as I would wish, but I hope to meet as many Norconsult people as possible, as soon as possible, either face-to-face or virtually. Norconsult enjoys an impressive position in the market, and I feel incredibly proud to have the opportunity to strengthen and build the company further, says Mr. Hogna.
Mr. Hogna is currently EVP for Hydro’s business area Extruded Solutions. He was previously President and CEO of Sapa, which was acquired by Hydro in 2017. Extruded Solutions (formerly Sapa) has currently approximately 22 000 employees and a turnover of 60 billion Norwegian kroner. Extruded Solutions has 140 production sites and a leading R&D capability, covering 40 countries.
Mr. Hogna has held several management positions at Yara, including head of Yara’s downstream activities (R&D, distribution and sales) and CFO. He holds an MSc from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and an MBA from INSEAD. He has also undertaken the Advanced Management Program at Harvard.
At the beginning of this year, CEO Per Kristian Jacobsen informed Norconsult’s board of directors that he wished to step down towards the end of 2020. Mr. Jacobsen has held the position of CEO for almost seven years, in addition to eight years serving as the company’s chairman of the board. He has thus played a vital and central role in Norconsult’s continued development. Mr. Jacobsen will remain in the position until December 1st and will continue to be available to support the board and the new CEO during the transition period.
