Piteå, Sweden
Kluczowe dane:

Living area: 140 sq.m.
Price/house: 3,3 million SEK
Estimated running cost: 2 667 SEK/month (electricity, district heating, water and sewage, home insurance)

The goal with the project Lusthusbacken was to build energy efficient houses that are adapted to the climate in the northern parts of Sweden. In the area the plan is to build five separated houses, five townhouses and four block of apartments, where all of the construction materials meets the environmental requirements. This makes this project unique, as it is the first passive house that are built in Norrbotten, in the northern part of Sweden.

The houses should have a minimum energy usage which results in lower energy costs and carbon dioxide emission. Piteå municipality set demands that the energy consumption should stay below 58 kWh/square meter each year.

The houses are equipped with sensors that make it possible for scientists at Luleå Tekniska Universitet (Luleå University of Technology) to measure and evaluate the energy performance and indoor climate. The sensors are also connected to a smart phone or tablet application, so the residents can check their energy consumption.

Norconsult performed an energy balance calculation at an early stage to determine the u-value, window surfaces etc., to satisfy the set energy demands. We also projected Ventilation and Sanitation and constituted complete tender documents as for the construction contract.
